MT7936 is a single-stage, high power factor, primary side control AC to DC LED driver chip. MT7936 integrates on-chip power factor correction (PFC) function, operates in critical conduction mode, achieves high power factor and reduces switching losses of power MOS transistors.

Utilizing the unique control technology (patent applied for) of Microchip Technology, the LED current can be accurately modulated without the need for optocouplers and secondary-side sensing devices.

MT7936 also implements various protection functions, including over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), short-circuit protection (SCP) and over-temperature protection (OTP), etc., to ensure reliable operation of the system.
