The RT7310 is an active PFC, thyristor dimming LED driver controller, and a high power factor constant current LED driver. Its design is optimized for compatibility with phase-cut dimmers. It can support high power factor in a wide input voltage range, and work in quasi-resonant mode to achieve higher efficiency. Because the primary side regulation is used, the RT7310 can obtain accurate output current without using a shunt regulator and optocoupler on the secondary side, reducing the number of components, cost, and the size of the drive circuit. The RT7310 is compatible with various phase-cut dimmers, including front-cut thyristor dimmers and rear-cut dimmers. RT7310 includes multiple protection functions, including LED open circuit protection, LED short circuit protection, output diode short circuit protection, VDD undervoltage lockout, VDD overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection and cycle-by-cycle current limit.
